Every year along the sandy beaches of Broadstairs, an annual festival called Folk Week takes place. Morris dancing is part of this fun and lively tradition. The building is sited on the street nearest to the beach and a morris costume designer lives and works there. Every year the Morris dancer adds to his collection of costumes and displays them as a mask, concealing the domestic and workshop areas.
